PRIVACY POLICY / UPDATED OCTOBER 13, 2026

Your game.
Your information.

This policy covers the Chess: Time Wars Apple app, the offline Android beta, and this information and support website.

Data practices differ by platform. The Apple services and advertising sections below apply only to the Apple app. See the Android beta section for the current offline Android build.

Questions or requests: supportchesstimewars@gmail.com.

Apple app: game data on your device

The app stores preferences, unfinished computer matches, turn history and local win/loss records on your device to run the game and let you resume play. Computer move calculations run on your device. The app does not require a separate Chess: Time Wars account or operate a developer-hosted gameplay database. Device backups may contain app data according to your Apple settings.

Apple services

Online multiplayer uses Apple Game Center. Apple processes account and matchmaking information; game-session information is exchanged between participating players so the match can run. Your Game Center identity may be visible to your opponent. Apple also processes in-app payments, purchase records, restores and refund requests through StoreKit. The app receives verified purchase information to enable owned features; it does not receive your payment-card details or Apple Account password.

Apple services may process diagnostic information under their applicable terms. Please review Apple's privacy policy and your Apple privacy and Game Center settings for these services.

Apple app: advertising and consent

The app integrates Google AdMob and Google's User Messaging Platform for full-screen ads between matches and applicable consent choices. At launch, the public App Store version will use revenue-generating ads for players who have not purchased ad removal. Ads appear only at eligible between-match breaks. Advertising contacts Google's services.

Google's SDK may process IP addresses, device and app information, diagnostics, identifiers and ad interactions to deliver ads, prevent fraud and measure performance. IP addresses can be used to estimate general location. The app requests non-personalized ads, disables Google's publisher first-party identifier, and does not request Apple's tracking permission. Non-personalized advertising does not mean that no data is processed.

Required consent is checked before requesting ads. Where applicable, revisit Options > Ad Privacy Choices to change your choices. Remove Ads or the Complete Pack stops new ad requests and presentations after ownership is verified; it does not delete data already processed by a provider. Read Google's privacy policy and Google's SDK data disclosure for more information.

Android beta: offline play

This section applies to the current offline Android beta. It does not require an account and does not collect or share personal data through the app. It has no advertising SDK, analytics SDK, in-app purchases or online multiplayer. The app does not request Internet permission and does not send saved games or gameplay records to our servers.

Your current match, settings, tutorials and personal match results are stored locally on your device to resume games and display personal statistics. The app disables Android application backup. Uninstalling the app or clearing its app storage removes those local records.

If you contact support, we receive the information you choose to send and use it to respond and investigate the issue, as described in the support email section below. Email is handled by the email provider, not by the offline game engine.

Google Play and Android may process installation, account, device or diagnostic information under their own policies. This policy does not claim that the operating system or Google Play collects no data. See Google's privacy policy.

Future additions such as multiplayer, advertising, analytics or purchases will require an updated policy and Google Play declarations before they are included in a distributed Android build.

This website

This static site is hosted by GitHub Pages. We have not added website analytics, advertising scripts, tracking pixels, sign-in, payment forms or mailing-list collection. Images and styles are hosted with the site. GitHub may process request information, including IP addresses, to operate and secure its hosting service. See GitHub's privacy statement. Following links to Apple, Google or other providers takes you to their services and policies.

Support email

If you email support, the message, your email address and attachments are processed through Gmail and used to answer your question, investigate problems and maintain a record of the request. Send only information relevant to the issue. We do not ask for passwords, verification codes or card details, and do not use support email as an automatic marketing subscription.

Retention and your choices

Local game data remains on your device until removed by the app or by deleting the app. Apple app backups are managed separately in your device/account settings; Android application backup is disabled in the current beta. Purchase and Game Center records for the Apple app are managed by Apple, and its advertising data by Google, under their policies. You can request access to or deletion of support correspondence under our control from the Account & Data Deletion page, without reinstalling the app. Any information that must be retained for security, dispute resolution or legal obligations may need to be retained for those purposes.

Withdrawing Apple app ad consent or deleting local app data does not automatically erase records held by Apple or Google. Use their account/privacy controls for those requests. Your rights can vary depending on where you live.

Children

Chess: Time Wars is not designed to collect personal information from children through a separate game account. A parent or guardian who believes a child has sent personal information to support can contact us to request its removal. App Store and Google Play age ratings and device purchase controls apply; do not submit personal information for a child in a bug report. The current offline Android beta does not collect personal data through the app.

Changes

Features and third-party services may change over time. This page will be updated to reflect material changes, with the date shown above. App Store privacy disclosures and Google Play Data safety declarations must reflect the version being distributed.
